A while back I sold a CD to a girl in Whittier and we got to talking about being in business for yourself. She had been running a pizza place for a few years, but was starting to take some hits. She told me how ever since Little Caesars had come out with the ‘large pizza for $5′, everybody started acting like anything over that was highway robbery. I guess she was trying to compete in some sort of way but it was starting to look bad. Today I was driving and noticed a pizza place advertising ‘FREE PIZZA!’. I started thinking, “Is this what it’s come to?”.

And that’s basically how the business world works. Somebody will come up with an idea, and as long as they’re controlling the market, they can ask whatever they want for their product and people will pay it. What else are they gonna do? If you want pizza you better be ready to cough up $20 for it. Or go get some McDonalds.

Today I decided to head down to Perris, CA to promote my music. I checked the weather out before I left and there was a 10% chance of rain. I can handle that.

The whole day it’s really nice, not too hot, not too cold…all the way up until about 5:00. I’m standing there letting this cat check out my record when all of a sudden these huge drops of rain start pelting us in front of the store. He’s just like, “Yeah…I think I’m gonna go”. I pretty much agreed that was gonna be a good idea, and decided I’d go in and get a Vitamin Water to kill some time while this rain passes over.
